  • Receive a 2.5% rebate if your deposit and balance payments are both received in full at or before 17:00pm on the due dates, and are paid via cash, cheque, BACS, or a combination of the three (we’re happy to pass on what we save in card processing fees)

Are payment plans available for all windows and doors?

Yes. All windows and doors supplied and installed by truhouse qualify for interest-free, interest-bearing, and Buy Now, Pay Later credit.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes, a deposit of 50% of your total order value is required to secure your technical survey, place your order, and commence manufacturing of your windows and doors. We offer flexible payment options, so your deposit can be paid to truhouse via your choice of debit card, credit card (including American Express), BACS, cash, or cheque.

If you’re applying for credit, your deposit payment will be due after your application has been completed and a decision reached.

Who can apply for credit?

Exact eligibility criteria for credit varies between lenders and is subject to status and affordability, but to apply for credit you should:

  • be 18 years of age or over
  • be a UK resident for a minimum of 3 years
  • be the legal owner of the property the windows and doors are being installed into
  • have regular income
  • not have been declared bankrupt within the last 6 years
  • not be in an Individual Voluntary Agreement (IVA)

How can I apply for credit?

To apply for credit:

You will need a valid written quote for new windows and doors from truhouse (that you wish to accept).
If you do not yet have a quote, please request a quote online, or get in touch with your nearest truhouse team via telephone.
If your quote has expired or you wish to make changes/alterations to any of the window or door specifications within your quote, please get in touch with your nearest truhouse team, or reach out to us on [email protected].

You can then book your finance appointment here, at a time, date and medium convenient to you (be it via telephone or video call).

Do I need to prepare for my finance appointment?

Yes, if you think you’d like to apply for credit, please be prepared to provide the following information during your appointment:

  • Personal details – including your address history for the past 3 years.
  • Income details – including your employment/self-employment/retirement status, the source of your income, and both gross and net income amounts.
  • Outgoings and financial commitments – including any existing credit obligations and information about dependents.
  • Direct debit details – have your bank account information ready to set up the direct debit upon approval.

This will help ensure the credit application process runs smoothly and efficiently.

What happens if I am referred?

A referred credit application means that, at the point of submission, the data received was insufficient to make an instant Accept or Decline decision and must be reviewed manually. If your application is referred, the lender will call you (typically within 48 hours). If they’re unable to reach you, they’ll email you with the outcome and next steps.

What happens if my application is declined?

A declined application may be the result of not passing the lender’s credit checks. If your application is declined, you’ll receive an email with the details. You can still pay for your chosen windows and doors with our self-funding option.

Will my application show up on my credit file?

Yes. When you complete a full credit application (which results in a decision) with truhouse, a hard credit search will be recorded on your credit file.
Please be aware that for Buy Now, Pay Later applications, the hard credit search and loan details will be recorded from the point of application, not after the 6 month pay nothing period.

Can I take out more than one payment plan?

Yes, you can for separate orders. Please be aware that you’ll need to go through an application and credit check for each payment plan. Approval will be subject to status and affordability. Terms and conditions apply.

Where can I find details about my repayment schedule?

All information related to your repayment schedule will be detailed in your signed credit agreement – a copy of which will be issued to you directly from the lender via email.

When will my first payment be taken?

For interest-free and interest-bearing credit products: The lender will take your first payment by Direct Debit approximately 1 month after your windows and doors have been installed.

For Buy Now, Pay Later credit: The lender will take your first payment by Direct Debit approximately 1 month after your 6 month pay nothing period ends (if you have not repaid the balance in full within this 6 month period).

How does the lender know when my windows and doors have been installed?

On the final day of installation, we will ask you to complete a digital Customer Satisfaction Form for the lender. This confirms that your truhouse windows and doors have been installed at your property and authorises the lender to commence your repayment plan.

Can I change the date of my Direct Debit?

Yes, you can change the date of your Direct Debit by contacting the lender.

Can I make overpayments and settle my payment plan early?

Yes, you can make additional payments to reduce the term of your loan or pay off your loan early. You can make extra payments via telephone banking or online banking. The lender will not charge you extra for repaying your agreement early via telephone banking or online banking.

What happens if I miss a payment?

If you miss a payment for any reason, you’ll need to contact the lender as soon as possible. Please be aware that missing payments and making a late payment could impact your credit score.

How do I make a complaint about my payment plan?

If you have a complaint about your payment plan, you should contact the lender and follow their documented complaints procedure.

Can I pay my full Buy Now, Pay Later credit balance in 1 payment during the 6-month pay nothing period?

Yes, you can make a single payment for the full credit balance at any point during the 6-month pay nothing period. There will be no interest and no early settlement fees.

Can I make partial payments during the first 6-month pay nothing period?

Yes, you can make as many or as few payments as you like during the 6-month pay noting period, with no interest or fees.
If you choose to make payments during the 6-month pay nothing period but do not pay off the full credit balance, you may shorten the subsequent 60-month repayment period, but your monthly repayment amount will remain the same/will not decrease.

Will you remind me before my 6-month pay nothing period ends?

Your lender will contact you by email around 1 month before your pay nothing period ends to confirm the end date and your payment options.

Is there support available if I’m struggling with my payments?

Yes, support is available to you. Please reach out to your lender (as well as any other lenders you have agreements with) as soon as possible if circumstances have changed and you’re finding it difficult to make your payments.
